Thigh Injuries Physical Examination

The doctor may perform the following examination or exploration:
.Control of Cardiac Frequency (Normal: 60 to 100 beats/minute)
.Control of Breathing Frequency (Normal: 16 to 20 breathing cycles/minute)
.Control of Temperature (Normal: 36,5 - 37 °C)
.Control of Blood Pressure (Normal: ≤ 120/80 mmHg)
Thigh examination:
. Observation (Inspection)
. Palpation (o touching): to know if there is any area that causes pain and to recognise if there is any injury that can be perceived by touching.
.Thigh and knee joint mobility: if it's restrained.
. Skin examination (colour, temperature, presence of any injury)
. Specific tests: the doctor may evaluate, through specific movements, the areas affected, if there is or pain or not.

Thoracocentesis

Invasive procedure in which the liquid or air accumulated in the pleural space (space places between the lungs and the rib cage) is extracted through the introduction of a needle or catheter in the skin.
It's performed with local anaesthesia.

Thorax Injuries Physical Examination

The doctor may perform the following examination or exploration:
.Control of Cardiac Frequency (Normal: 60 to 100 beats/minute)
.Control of Breathing Frequency (Normal: 16 to 20 breathing cycles/minute)
.Control of Temperature (Normal: 36,5 - 37 °C)
.Control of Blood Pressure (Normal: ≤ 120/80 mmHg)
Thorax Examination
-Observation (or Inspection)
-Palpation (or touching)
- Auscultation (or listening): listening the noises/sounds produced by the lungs and heart.
-Percussion (repeated taps): to know how each part of the thorax sounds.
.Neck Examination:
-Observation
-Neck vessels palpation

Skin and mucous (mouth) examination: evaluate colouring changes.

Abdomen Examination:
-Observation (or Inspection)
-Palpation (or touching): to know if there is some area that causes pain and to examine if there is any injury that may be perceived by touching.
-Listening to the abdomen sounds. (hydro-aerial)
-Percussion (repeated taps): to know how each part of the abdomen sounds.

Throat culture

It is an examination in which a sample of pus or throat exudates is obtained from the throat and this is processed (grown) to determine the presence of different bacteria and their sensitivity to antibiotics. It takes days.

Throat Culture with quick test for detection of SBHGA

Test in which, through a sample, with a cotton swab of throat secretions, it is possible to know if there is an infection of the bacteria Betahemolitic Group A Streptococus .

Throat Culture with quick test to detect GABHS

It’s a blood test to measure antibodies (protein produced by immune system or defense system of the body when it detects foreign substances) against Streptolysin O, or a substance produced by bacteriaGroup A beta-hemolytic streptococci (GABHS)
