Plantar Fasciotomy

It's a surgical procedure used for the treatment of plantar fasciitis, in which a cut on the affected plantar fascia (a fibrous tissue which comprehends the sole, from the heel to the toes) is made for it to relax and to reduce the inflammation.

Plasmapheresis

It is a procedure used to clean the blood of antibodies that attack by mistake the tissues of the organism, toxins or metabolic substances.
Blood is extracted through a tube. Then it will go to a machine that will separate the blood cells of the plasma (liquid part of the blood that doesn't have cells). Blood cells will mix with replacement plasma and finally the blood is put back in the body through another tube.
This procedure doesn't need anesthesia.

Pleural drainage

Pleural drainage is a procedure in which a flexible tube is inserted between the ribs and inside the pleural space (space between the membrane covering the lung and thoracic wall) to eliminate or prevent the accumulation of air and fluid inside it.
To introduce the tube a small cut or incision is made in the skin, between the ribs. Once the tube is put in the right place, it is connected with a special jar that through suction or gravity will help to drain the pleural space.
It’s performed under sedation and local anesthesia.
