Doppler ultrasound

It's a type of ultrasound that studies the blood flow through the veins and arteries to know its quantity, speed and consistency at the moment of the ultrasound.
To do it, a gel is put over the skin in the area of the body to be studied and then the ultrasound scanner is used pressing the skin. During the procedure, the doctor sees images the ultrasound scanner transmits in a monitor.
It's a quick, simple and painless study. It doesn't need analgesia or sedation.

Edrophonium chloride test

It’s an examination used as part of the diagnosis of a disease called Myasthenia Gravis.
An intravenous substance called Edrophonium chloride is injected, increasing the levels of Acetylcholine in blood. Acetylcholine is a substance in charge of the nerves that send messages to the muscles for them to contract.
When Edrophonium is injected in people with Myasthenia Gravis it improves transitorily muscle weakness.
